Integration of services and contents of third parties

It may happen that third-party content, such as videos from YouTube, map material from Google Maps, RSS feeds or graphics from other websites are integrated within this online service. This always presupposes that the providers of this content (hereinafter referred to as "third-party providers") perceive the IP address of the user. Without the IP address, they would not be able to send the content to the browser of the respective user. The IP address is therefore required for the presentation of this content. We make every effort to use only those contents whose respective providers only use the IP address to deliver the contents. However, we have no influence on whether the third party providers store the IP address for statistical purposes, for example. As far as this is known to us, we inform the users about it.

Cookies and right of objection for direct advertising

You can manage many online ad cookies from companies through the U.S. http://www.aboutads.info/choices/ site or the EU http://www.youronlinechoices.com/uk/your-ad-choices/ site.

Cookies" are small files that are stored on the user's computer. Different data can be stored within the cookies. A cookie is primarily used to store information about a user (or the device on which the cookie is stored) during or after the user's visit to an online service. Temporary cookies, or "session cookies" or "transient cookies", are cookies that are deleted after a user leaves an online offer and closes his browser. The content of a shopping basket in an online shop or a login status, for example, can be stored in such a cookie. Cookies are referred to as "permanent" or "persistent" and remain stored even after the browser has been closed. For example, the login status can be saved if users visit it after several days. The interests of the users can also be stored in such a cookie, which are used for range measurement or marketing purposes. Third party cookies" are cookies that are offered by providers other than the person responsible for operating the online service (otherwise, if they are only the latter's cookies, they are referred to as "first party cookies").

If users do not wish cookies to be stored on their computer, they are asked to deactivate the corresponding option in the system settings of their browser. Stored cookies can be deleted in the system settings of the browser. The exclusion of cookies can lead to functional restrictions of this online offer.

A general objection to the use of cookies used for online marketing purposes can be raised for a large number of services, particularly in the case of tracking, via the US website http://www.aboutads.info/choices/ or the EU website http://www.youronlinechoices.com/ . In addition, cookies can be saved by deactivating them in the browser settings. Please note that in this case not all functions of this online offer can be used.

What are web beacons or pixel tags and what do we use them for?

Some of the pages of our website and e-mail updates may contain electronic images, so-called web beacons, also known as one-pixel GIFs, clear GIFs or pixel tags. They allow us to count visitors who have viewed our pages. In promotional emails and newsletters, they allow us to count how many subscribers have read them. Web beacons provide us with statistical information about the activities and features that interest our consumers most so that we can personalize our content. In general, however, they are not used to collect personally identifiable information without your consent.

We may share pixel tags and trackers with third parties who assist us in our promotional activities and the development of our website. For example, to measure how effective our advertisements are, we accept that third parties - such as Facebook - may use cookies, web beacons, and other storage technologies to collect or collect information from our Web pages and other Web sites, and that they may use that information to evaluate and target advertising on their own platforms. Read here to learn how you can opt out of third party data collection and use for promotional purposes:

Facebook Social Plugins

This offer uses social plugins ("plugins") of the social network facebook.com, which is operated by Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA ("Facebook"). The plugins can be recognized by one of the Facebook logos (white "f" on a blue tile or a "thumbs up" sign) or are marked with the addition "Facebook Social Plugin". The list and appearance of Facebook Social Plugins can be viewed here: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/.

When a user accesses a website of this offer that contains such a plugin, his browser establishes a direct connection with the Facebook servers. The content of the plugin is transmitted by Facebook directly to your browser and integrated into the website by it. The provider therefore has no influence on the extent of the data that Facebook collects with the help of this plugin and therefore informs the user according to his level of knowledge:

By integrating the plugins, Facebook receives the information that a user has called up the corresponding page of the offer. If the user is logged in to Facebook, Facebook can assign the visit to his Facebook account. When users interact with the plugins, for example by clicking the Like button or commenting, the corresponding information is transferred directly from your browser to Facebook and stored there. If a user is not a member of Facebook, it is still possible for Facebook to find out his IP address and save it. According to Facebook, only an anonymous IP address is stored in Germany.

The purpose and scope of the data collection and the further processing and use of the data by Facebook as well as the relevant rights and setting options to protect the privacy of users can be found in Facebook's data protection information: https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/.

If a user is a Facebook member and does not want Facebook to collect data about him via this offer and link it with his Facebook stored member data, he must log out of Facebook before visiting the website.

It is also possible to block Facebook social plug-ins with add-ons for your browser, for example with the "Facebook Blocker".

Facebook Remarketing/ Retargeting (Custom Audience)

Our pages include the Facebook pixel of the social network Facebook, 1601 South California Avenue, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA. When you visit our pages, Facebook Pixel establishes a direct connection between your browser and the Facebook server. Facebook receives the information that you have visited our site with your IP address. This allows Facebook to associate visiting our pages with your user account. We can use the information obtained in this way to display Facebook Ads or for tracking functions. We would like to point out that, as the provider of the pages, we do not have any knowledge of the content of the data transmitted or its use by Facebook. Further information on this can be found in facebook's privacy policy at https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/ . If you do not wish Custom Audience data to be collected, you can deactivate Custom Audiences here.

Online presences in social media

We maintain online presences within social networks and platforms in order to be able to communicate with the customers, interested parties and users active there and to inform them about our services there. When calling up the respective networks and platforms, the terms and conditions and data processing policies of their respective operators apply.
Unless otherwise stated in our privacy policy, we process the data of users if they communicate with us within the social networks and platforms, e.g. write posts on our online presences or send us messages.

We also promote presences on the social networks listed below on our website. The integration takes place via a linked graphic of the respective network. The use of this linked graphic prevents a connection from being automatically established to the respective server of the social network when a website with a social media advertisement is called up in order to display a graphic of the respective network itself. Only by clicking on the corresponding graphic is the user redirected to the service of the respective social network.

After the user has been redirected, information about the user is collected by the respective network. It cannot be ruled out that the data collected in this way is processed in the USA.

These are first of all data about the user. This is initially data such as IP address, date, time and page visited. If the user is logged into his or her user account of the respective network during this time, the network operator may be able to assign the collected information of the user's specific visit to the user's personal account. If the user interacts via a "Share" button of the respective network, this information may be stored in the user's personal user account and may be published. If the user wants to prevent the collected information from being directly assigned to his/her user account, he/she must log out before clicking on the graphic. In addition, it is possible to configure the respective user account accordingly.

Google Tag Manager

Google Tag Manager is a solution with which we can manage so-called website tags via an interface (and thus integrate Google Analytics and other Google marketing services into our online offering). The Tag Manager itself (which implements the tags) does not process any personal user data. With regard to the processing of users' personal data, reference is made to the following information on Google services. Terms of use: https://www.google.com/intl/de/tagmanager/use-policy.html.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC ("Google"), based on our legitimate interests. Google uses cookies. The information generated by the cookie about the use of the online offer by the user is usually transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there.

Google is certified under the Privacy Shield Agreement and thus offers a guarantee of compliance with European data protection law (https://www.privacyshield.gov/participant?id=a2zt000000001L5AAI&status=…).

Google will use this information on our behalf to evaluate the use of our online services by users, to compile reports on activities within this online service and to provide us with other services related to the use of this online service and the Internet. Pseudonymous user profiles of the users can be created from the processed data.

We use Google Analytics only with activated IP anonymisation. This means that the IP address of the user is shortened by Google within member states of the European Union or in other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there.

The IP address transmitted by the user's browser is not merged with other Google data. Users may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on their browser, however please note that if any damage occurs by the use of information presented there, only the author of the respective pages might be liable, not the one who has linked to these pages. The author intended not to use any copyrighted material for the publication or, if not possible, to indicate the copyright of the respective object.

Further information on the use of data by Google, setting and objection options can be found in Google's data protection declaration (https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads) and in the settings for the display of advertising by Google (https://adssettings.google.com/authenticated).

The personal data of the users will be deleted or anonymized after 26 months.

Target group formation with Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to display ads placed by Google and its partners within our advertising services only to users who have shown an interest in our online services or who have specific characteristics (e.g. interests in specific topics or products determined on the basis of the websites visited) that we transmit to Google (so-called "remarketing" or "Google Analytics Audiences"). With the help of remarketing audiences, we also want to ensure that our ads match the potential interest of users.

Google AdWords and Conversion Measurement

We use the services of Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA ("Google") on the basis of our legitimate interests.

Google is certified under the Privacy Shield Agreement, which guarantees compliance with European privacy laws (https://www.privacyshield.gov/participant?id=a2zt000000001L5AAI&status=…).

We use the Google AdWords online marketing process to place ads on the Google Advertising Network (e.g., in search results, videos, websites, etc.) so that they are displayed to users who have a suspected interest in the ads. This allows us to display ads for and within our online offerings in a more targeted manner in order to present users only with ads that potentially match their interests. If, for example, a user is shown ads for products in which he or she is interested in other online offers, this is referred to as "remarketing". For these purposes, when our and other websites on which the Google Advertising Network is active are called up, a Google code is executed directly by Google and so-called (re)marketing tags (invisible graphics or code, also referred to as "web beacons") are integrated into the website. With their help, an individual cookie, i.e. a small file, is stored on the user's device (comparable technologies can also be used instead of cookies). In this file it is noted which websites the user visits, which contents he is interested in and which offers the user has clicked, furthermore technical information about the browser and operating system, referring websites, visiting time as well as further information about the use of the online offer.

We also receive an individual "conversion cookie". The information obtained with the help of the cookie is used by Google to compile conversion statistics for us. However, we only know the anonymous total number of users who clicked on our ad and were directed to a page with a conversion tracking tag. However, we do not receive information that personally identifies users.

User data is processed pseudonymously within the Google advertising network. This means, for example, that Google does not store and process the user's name or e-mail address, but processes the relevant data cookie-related within pseudonymous user profiles. This means that, from Google's point of view, the ads are not administered and displayed for a specifically identified person, but for the cookie holder, regardless of who this cookie holder is. This does not apply if a user has expressly permitted Google to process the data without this pseudonymisation. The information collected about users is transmitted to Google and stored on Google's servers in the United States.

Further information on the use of data by Google, setting and objection options can be found in Google's data protection declaration (https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads) and in the settings for the display of advertising by Google (https://adssettings.google.com/authenticated).

Google Maps

We integrate the maps of the "Google Maps" service of the provider Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. The data processed may include, in particular, IP addresses and location data of users, which may not be collected without their consent (usually as part of the settings of their mobile devices). The data may be processed in the USA. Privacy Policy: https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/, Opt-Out: https://adssettings.google.com/authenticated.

Sharing features of AddThis

Within our online offer the service "AddThis" (1595 Spring Hill Rd Suite 300 Vienna, VA 22182, USA) is used to share contents of this online offer within social networks (so-called sharing). AddThis uses the personal information of the users for the supply and the execution of the Sharing functions. Beyond that AddThis can use pseudonymous information of the users for marketing purposes. This data is stored on the user's computer using so-called "cookie" text files. Privacy policy: http://www.addthis.com/privacy, Opt-Out: http://www.addthis.com/privacy/opt-out.

Revocation, Changes, Permissions and Updates

The user has the right, upon request and free of charge, to obtain information about the personal data stored about him. In addition, the user has the right to correction of incorrect data, blocking and deletion of his personal data, unless there is no legal obligation to retain.
