Boat Parties, Port Days, and Go-Kart Racing: In-Person Events are Back this 2022, and Bertschi is All In
After a very long few years, we are finally starting to see the return of in-person events. Team spirit connects people! We are proud to be able to show you around some of our events held this 2022, and we are looking forward to upcoming events that bring us closer together and create new bonds through unique experiences and exciting times!
Hallwilerseelauf
The Annual Hallwilerseelauf is a run in the Canton of Aargau that we participate in every year. Every employee that signs up receives the starting fee sponsored by Bertschi, and finishes the race of their choice in a bright yellow Bertschi shirt! This year's race was on Saturday October 15, and here's the team of fun and fit Bertschi colleagues who proudly raced in yellow! Thank you to those who participated, and congratulations on finishing your respective races—half-marathon, 10k, and nordic walkers.
Night of Aargau Business
On 08 September 2022, we were pleased to welcome around 50 visitors from the Aargau region to our headquarters. This event took place as part of the AIHK's "Night of the Aargau Economy", during which people from Aargau are invited to visit companies in the region. The eager and curious guests were welcomed by our CEO Jan Arnet with an introductory presentation and greeting. They then took a tour of the office and listened to short presentations about the global business and digitalisation. Afterwards, the visitors were also allowed to take a look at our in-house canteen, which is run by the Lebenshilfe foundation.
Apprenticeship Information Afternoon
In summer, we opened up our doors to eager teens who've started thinking about where they want to start their apprenticeships next year. The Bertschi Apprenticeship Information Afternoon is a new annual introductory event to the different apprenticeships we offer at our locations in Switzerland. It was a great success, with the prospective apprentices and their parents getting a full tour of headquarters, meeting the program mentors, and getting a small taste of each apprenticeship. This way, they can make an informed decision about applying to Bertschi, and starting their careers!
Apprentice event 2022
Once again the annual interdivisional apprentice event took palce. In the afternoon, our apprentices visited SBB Cargo in Olten together with the instructors, followed by a pleasant dinner in the in-house canteen in Dürrenäsch. Our apprentices, the instructors, and the practical trainers were invited to the dinner. Finally, we went to the bowling centre in Aarau, where the day came to a lovely end.
Boat party Duisburg
Bertschi Duisburg just celebrated summer together with a great boat party. It was also a great occassion to throw a goodbye party to the previous Subsidiary Manager Dirk Knüppel. The boat trip from Duisburg to Düsseldorf was held on a perfect sunny Saturday, with lots of food, and, in true German fashion, nice cold beer!
Port Day in Rotterdam
This year, Bertschi Rotterdam decided to take part in the biggest annual maritime event in the Netherlands. World Port Days (Wereldhavendagen). Bertschi Rotterdam Botlek opened their doors to the public, taking visitors around the terminal, and treating them to insightful presentations by our colleagues.
The Go-Kart Race with ICT Infrastructure
On 21 October 2022, ICT's team event took place at the Race-Inn in Roggwil. 25 employees competed against each other on the race course. Following the event, the evening ended in a relaxed atmosphere with a delicious cheese fondue and fondue chinoise.
Future Day 2022
On 10.11.2022 at our offices in Switzerland, we participated in the Swiss National Future Day, or as we call it here, "Zukunftstag" 2022. On this day, companies throughout Switzerland open their doors to the children of their employees. We find it valuable to connect with the younger generation, show them the importance of their parents' work, and instill in them a passion for this fascinating industry early on.
